We are a family business offering a full ange of garden maintenance services throughout Sussex including Haywards Heath, Crawley, Lewes, Burgess Hill.
We aim to provide the highest level of customer care to all our clients be it a one off small domestic job or an on going corporate contract. We work with landlords, letting and management agents including Stuart & Partners in Haywards Health and Hunters in Burgess Hill.

More About Your Sussex Gardeners
With a lifelong love of gardening starting for Sue helping on he parent’s allotment in Kent, slightly later for Mike (well, there wasn’t much opportunity around the Old Kent Road in those days)!! with a garden flat in Lewisham, South East London. Sue and Mike transformed two gardens in South London, bringing one back from overgrown desolation, and another, a large communal space, from bland shady lawn to a child and wildlife friendly area. This garden was unfortunately eclipsed by the neighbours, the NSPCC who then had Carol Klein’s Chelsea Show Garden transplanted to their property! Carol has since remained Sue’s primary inspiration.
Whilst Sue is very much the plantsman and cultivator of the partnership, Mike is the muscle, happy shifting tonnes of topsoil, pruning, raking and getting thoroughly weatherbeaten. Mike also has years of client management skills, having been and Artist Liaison Manager for a record company for many years and having also run his own music shop. He has brought this experience with him into the business, reflected in the importance that Fork Handles places on customer service.
A move to Sussex a few years ago for better quality of family life with their three children, saw the switch to full time gardening and the couple have never looked back.
Outside of gardening Mike and Sue are both keenly involved in the local community, with Sue helping one day a week as a volunteer at the local infant school and Mike serving as a Governor at the local Junior School. Mike is also a qualified rugby referee and helps run the junior section of the local rugby club.
